In the 13th issue (2024) of the scientific and production journal "Beekeeping of Ukraine", published on the basis of the NNTs «In-t bdzhilnytstva im. P.I. Prokopovycha» NAAN Ukrainy, the results of scientific research on the microbiological purity of bee products, plant raw materials, as well as apiphytoreads based on them were presented. Bee products and plant ingredients are an ideal combination for the production of food supplements, medicines, medical cosmetics or personal hygiene products. They combine well with each other, have a synergistic effect and have a positive effect on human health. Due to the growing demand for apiphytoreads, there is a need to develop appropriate methods for standardizing bee products and plant raw materials, as well as research into their bacterial contamination. Despite the powerful antibacterial effect of many bee products, some types of microorganisms are able to survive and potentially harm consumers.

The appearance of bacteria can be due to non-compliance with hygiene standards during product collection, packaging and/or storage conditions. Also, sources that are very difficult to control can be the cause of microbial contamination - the digestive tract of honey bees, air, dust, soil or bee pollen itself. Therefore, for the production of apiphytoreads, only those raw material samples are selected that have the maximum content of biologically active substances, meet regulatory quality standards, and are microbiologically safe.

During the study of various beekeeping products and products based on them, the products of TM "Medok" were investigated, namely lyophilized royal jelly, lyophilized drone homogenate, suppositories with royal jelly and sea buckthorn oil, suppositories with drone homogenate and wheat germ oil, as well as suppositories with propolis and medicinal herbs. During the study, high biological activity of these products was established.

Lyophilization of royal jelly and drone larva homogenate was carried out in the KEMOLO FD-50 freeze dryer without the use of food additives or any preservatives. Thanks to this, beekeeping products can be stored for up to 5 years at room temperature without losing their beneficial properties. This technology is patented and has no analogues in Ukraine.

According to the results of the study, all samples of royal jelly, drone homogenate, propolis and plant components meet the indicators specified in current national standards, are not contaminated with pathogenic microflora and meet the requirements of microbiological safety. It was found that all the studied products are made from high-quality raw materials, are safe for use and can be recommended for human health.
